Charlotte Vanderstappen is a Sydney-born artist working and living on Gadigal and Dharawal land. Vanderstappen explores the threshold between tension and discomfort, a space that is felt loudly rather than seen directly. Her pieces create a sense of quiet intrusion, as if something has slipped into the room with you. Through this, she attempts to bring to light the presence that lies beneath all of us, something familiar yet rarely acknowledged.

Vanderstappen is a contemporary figurative painter living and working on Eora Nation. Vanderstappen is formally trained in oil painting, obtaining her BFA from the Sydney based University the National Art School in 2025.
